Great racing. What's up with the winner saying they "have to have fun" racing? I thought that was the point, but it seems to have gotten lost in the "business."
Eagle that's the "road to nascar"
I wasn't sure if someone had already posted, but many times someone else's post on what was on, like you many times BWH helped me get to see some races I wanted to see. Some people will do nearly anything in order to be able to not do anything.

What Indy and Daytona winner won a midget feature in the Astrodome?
Hint: He is now an owner in the IRL (unless they add road races, that is).All roads lead to Indy except for State Road 39 which goes to Martinsville.
"These cars are traveling faster than we can react" Eddie Sachs, race day 1964 (Indianapolis Times).

Aloha Delbert,,,,
You got it,,, LOL,,,
She's a lot like a Charlie McCarthy Doll, with a tinge, or likeness of Frankenstein, thrown in,,, or,,, lurking just below the surface,,, for good measure...
When she went in for a Complete IRAN Inspection, and a Face Overhaul, a couple of years ago, she must of shopped around,,, looking for some kind of a deal...
I think she got the K-Mart Blue Light Special...
Not $59.95, Not $49.95, but for $29.95,,,
"We Will Change Your Hole Look Out on Life"...
Now she look's like Vetta Van Scary, at times.... But not always, some times she'd make a "Bull Dog Break a Chain"... And not from trying to excape either.... She's a trip... A Chameleon, changes daily... I've had girl friends like that, somedays, "knock outs",,, next day, they'd scare the ducks, right off the pond.... SCARY... LOL To be honest with you, now, at this stage in my life,,, after 30+ days, on the payroll, they all get looking pretty scary... The same eye's you gazed into with lust, or hope, now only look like two big gaint dollar signs.... LOL
"Hey Honey,,, You've Got to Move Your Car,,, This Morning,,, please,,,,
"Where Do You Want Me to Move It Too,,, Sweety" ,,,,,
How About Your Own Friggen DRIVE WAY,,, for a Change...
Gretta, should of gotten the "Body Mechanics" that do all the work on Dolly Patton or Linda Vaughan... Those guys got to be, real "Picasso's',,, when it come to working with "Bondo"... Although,,, Linda is no "Silicon Queen",,, not sure about Dolly, can't tell ya, from personal experience... Linda has had maybe a few "up-liftings", and a couple of Complete IRAN Overhauls so far,,, but she still a beauty, at ??? what,,, 70....
IRAN= Inspect,,,, Remove and Repair,,, As,,, Necessary..... LOLYes,,, Yes,,, Tony,,,

The One and Only, Simply the Best,,,, AJ
Same answer for "LittleMan's Question, also,,,me thinks....
One year at ,,,??? Springfield,,, or De Coin,,,, The USAC Stocker, Midgets, and Champ cars all ran one weekend,,, From memory, the speeds were 98 MPH and change for the stockers,,, 101 MPH and change for the "Big Cars" and over 105 MPH for the Midgets,,, I think,,, all set by AJ... Might of been, 106 for the Midgets...
At least that's my story, and I am sticking to it, unless Dick, "Who Dances With Coyotes", says different.... He has seen so much, unreal,,, and can write so well...Yes,,, Yes,,, Tony,,,

I was there and track never did get dry slick. They watered the track quite a few times over the night. They never did develope a great cushion because the bottom was so great.
When I walked across the track after the feature there was still a great amount of moisture off the turns down low.
I hope the race was great on TV. (I have it taped, but I haven't seen it yet) It was a fantastic night of racing. One of the heat races was the best heat race that I have ever seen. There was not a slouch in the bunch.Last edited by MicroRacer; 08-08-2003, 05:48 AM.I would think by now that this administration would have a clue as to what it takes to get the job done. I was there and it was a great night of racing. I thought TV did it justice and sometimes even better--those speed shots from between one and two were awesome--really captured the sense of speed! Great job TV guys! All the greats used to race at Terre Haute--AJ, Mario, Branson, McCluskey....on and on. Check out Dick Wallen's 60's video for some great shots of the Action Track.
It really IS all good!
