It seems that once the cigar smoke cleared the ASA stock cars may have found a date there during the fair. Good for them.

Now where is my change for the tollway, I should have enough by July.

My thoughts exactly! It has been a while since USAC ventured to the Mile. I would think that this bill will create quite a draw.

If this is true, I am THERE! USAC ran midgets and silvercrowns (maybe sprints too, my memory is a little foggy)there in early nineties (?) with some stock cars thrown in. There was talk of trying to make it a "midwest Copper Classic". Saw midgets in Hales Corner and Sun Prairie on either end and it was one of the best racin' weekends I ever had!
            It really IS all good!

              Perhaps early August?

That used to be the date back in the late 80's early 90's.

Heck, there used to be a 2nd race at Michigan in September back in the 80's.

Not only did MIS have a Sept. race back then, it was a 150 miler!!

                Talk about a sprint race.

They would have to make MIS first weekend in August, as Nascar has a date in August as well. But that would conflict with the Brickyard 400?

I think it will be held this weekend next year. It will take the place of Gateway, which will be dropped. Michigan will be a week before KY.

Also, I am not sure how the date correspond, but Pikes Peak may have to move up a week (to not interfere will the US Grand Prix). Could make for 3 straight weeks of racing (Pikes Peak, Richmond and Kansas). Or could Kansas move to late April and be the lead-up to Indy (which is the date that Las Vegas may have been in for)? We will likely know in a couple of weeks.

Milwaukee had USAC Silver Crown and Midgets there in 1988 and 1990. Also, there was a stock car race, but I don't remember the sanctioning group. A.J. Foyt was the co-promoter with Dennis Wood from Phoenix, I believe. Al Unser, Sr. drove in the stock car race, I think in 1990. The most unusual part that year was the warm-up laps had all three division on the track at the same time.

Michigan moves one week later next year. Makes this deal possible.

Milwaukee really should be held as the first race after Indy if you ask me... just something special about that 1-2 combo.

If this goes through, that will mean an IndyCar/USAC race on July 25, a CART/Atlantic race on the 31st of May (assuming there is no changes there), and a Busch/Truck weekend on June 29th.

Got a race weekend at the end of each summer month... lots of racing for the Wisconsin race fan.

And i think, unless there is a date move for the WI State Fair, that the IRL race will miss the first day of the fair by about 4 days.
