How's the racing at Kentucky Speedway?

The quotes from the testing this week seemed to indicate that the rtrack was improved since the open test where all the drivers were complaining about the bumps. Does anyone know what they have done? IIRC, the track manager was quoted as saying they weren't going to make any changes. Did IMS put on some pressure? Did the teams just adapt to the surface better this time around? Curious if anyone has heard anything.

If your thinking about going, GO.
It's one of the best tracks on the schedule. EVERY seat is a good one. There are NO bad sight lines.
You won't be dissapointed.

I've been to two of the three of them.
Cookie cutter thrill show on a bumpy track.
All the GM teams will hve their Cosworths
Teams with ready availability to a shaker rig will have an advantage.
Park at the BP and take the shuttle

I hear they have improved the exit roads out of the parking areas so maybe the traffic won't be as bad as in the past

The first and third year were faster than the second, and this year sounds like it will be like the 2nd. They seem to have track problems every other year. On the other hand, I think there was only one wreck the second year, and it was caused by equipment failure (Dismore).
Last year saw one of the closest finishes in league history (but which race does not these days). It also saw a FOUR WIDE situation on a restart. I couldn't wait to get home to see it on tape. Well, of course, ABC did not manage to get back from one of their many commercial breaks quick enough, so it was seen only by those that attended.
I'd recommend it. Be prepared to tailgate or something after, though, as you may have trouble leaving the place. It is in the middle of nowhere, and there are only two state highways that service the place (but they lead to the Interstate a short distance away).

They're really sucky. Only about three quarters as entertaining as Michigan and Texas.
Just kidding. Great racing, as usual. At least two racing lines, sometimes two and a half.

How's the racing at Kentucky Speedway?
I'm a new IRL fan and I may try and get up there for the race this year. It'll be tough because it's the wife's birthday. So I want to know how the races usually are there. Is there much passing? Thanks for your help!Tags: None
