Could be the best open wheel series anywhere.

      No DOUBT, Miles!
I saw 'em at Martinsville with the Busch cars. The crowd left after the Busch race .
The guy I was with is a die-hard fender guy. He loved 'em!
      Fun, fun cars to watch.

Which reinforces a contention that was discussed at TF before....there's a difference between WC fans and "NASCAR fans".

A Cup fan will follow Busch and Trucks because they're usually companion events on a Cup weekend. That's about the extent of thier racing involvment .

A "NASCAR fan" is ( in addition to attending Cup/BGN/CTS races ) likely to be found at a local short track most weekends during racing season . Could be Mods , could be Late Models , heck - it could be street stocks and hobby class racing .

As for what Jeff and Miles said , I agree 1000%. The Mods are the best racing NASCAR has , and one of the best OW series out there.

Hey Miles , maybe we can talk M'ville into going back to 250 lappers for the Mods!

That ain't no Open Wheel car.

To continue some analogies used recently here:

Taking the front fenders off a stock car doesn't make it an open wheel car anymore than painting your Fiero red makes it a Ferrari.

We flipped our finger to the King of England
Stole our country from the Indians
With god on our side and guns in our hands
We took it for our own!

Step, don't let the left side view fool you, the bodies are way offset. They didn't take the fenders off of anything, the view of the right side shows two 15 inch wide Indy sized tires, fromt and rear, entirly out in the air. This was the schooling ground Wally Dallenbach chose for the younger Wally. These are truly OW cars and have been since I can remember.
