"Panther Racing will expand in 2003 to field a team in the Indy Racing Infiniti Pro Series, with Mark Taylor driving. Taylor, a 24-year-old from London, will run the full season in the IRL development series for Panther, which fields IRL cars for defending champion Hornish and Wheldon.
Taylor is driving this year for Manor Motorsport in British Formula 3."
Yet another talented American short tracker gets a shot at the big time...
SF, I know what your saying but I have yet to hear 1 good American short-track guy say he was trying to get a ride with one of the IPS elite teams and couldn't put a ride together for one reason or another. If I started hearing guys like Kahne, Hines, Steele, etc ... say they were angry with IPS because they wanted a ride and couldn't get it done, then maybe I'd have a serious issue with the whole deal, but I haven't seen anyone beatin doors down to get into the series. The teams have to have money to get it goin and maybe thats the reason or maybe their sprint rides are payin them better money; I just don't know what the real scoop is; wish I did though!

You know what Howard? Some of us don't give a rats *** if a driver is a short tracker - but there are plenty of American drivers - whether they be short trackers or road racers - who would serve the IRL better than an up and coming F1 wannabe. I understand your point, but not all of us need short trackers - just Americans. If I remember right, just a couple years ago there was a young American that not many people knew much about named Sam Hornish.

Common Rev you know that HD stirs the pot just enough to have someone fire back.
If they cross the line and call him a name after he has pushed them to the brink he will run and hide behind his momma's skirt like some little school girl.
If the league is not going to shift their stance on the fees I would imagine all of the ovals would start being replaced by "chamber of commerce financially supported" TV infomercials dressed up like a car race for different city centers across the USA.
Expect the negativity to get much worse in the follwoing months....
CARTS demise will surely leave any IRL basher no other choice then to blame, question, and just throw cheap shots against the wall of CART shame....hoping something will stick.....we have plenty of ammo to offset any weak dig at wether we have a short tracker in the IPL....or IRL.....or wether hes american or otherwise....
Remember..they are DESPERATE here....they have maybe 6 teams lined up for next year....they would take the jamaican bobsled team if the sponsorship was there...
