According to the local Fox new station, there will be a Martina McBride concert immediately after the race. They interviewed Jeff Ward by phone and he confirmed that.

Also on the noon news, Cardinal ticket sales for games after the 30th have dropped to near nothing. Hopefully the IRL can attract some of these folks who would have normally gone to the BB game. Sadly, promotion for the race is way off compared to last year.

I saw several big billboards around town last weekend, enticing us with the claim that "Traffic is exciting at 200 MPH" or something similar.

200 MPH at Gateway would indeed be exciting... but not in a healthy way.

BTW, after Sept 11 the chorus to her song "Independence Day" got a lot of play, I believe Larry King even had her on to sing it live on CNN (the song is actually about a woman fighting back from domestic violence)

So close to the anniversary of 9/11 I expect it will revive some memories.
