  • Nashville at NIGHT!

    July 20, under the lights!

    Gotta love those night races.

Racing at Night looks very cool. The cars colors are awesome, and the speed is great.

    That goes for Midgets, etc.

The cars do look cool, but I absolutely hate having to wait until the afternoon to start my "track experience" at night races.

Will there be more tickets avaliable for that race this year? I would love to go to that one. That would by my girlfriend's first night IRL race too. And you're right about the cars looking so much cooler at night. I prefer to see cars at night though a haze of dirt though, but IRL looks awsome too.

I prefer night races. May have to add Nashville to the agenda.

Too bad it's not conducive to TV ratings, at least as I understand it.

Nashville was a good experience last year.
The only down side was the long drive 5 hours each way or 10 hours total for less than 2 hours of racing.

I think I am going to head to Mich this year instead of Nashville. The travel time for me is about the same and I will see a much longer race not to metion not get home until 2am like Nashville.
If the league is not going to shift their stance on the fees I would imagine all of the ovals would start being replaced by "chamber of commerce financially supported" TV infomercials dressed up like a car race for different city centers across the USA.

Buy the pit pass and start early!

Well, in the case of Texas, although I had credentials, I couldn't get in until something like 1 or 1:30. ...that was too late for me. I like starting my day at the track ~7-8AM!

Come on to RIR , they're about the most fan-friendly track I've ever been to . Even though they've been bought by ISC , Kenny Campbell is head honcho on site .
He's kept the same "fans first" philosophy from the days when he was a partner with the Sawyers at the old Fairgrounds 1/2 mile .

I love watching night races live and on TV. The ratings sure don't help the teams and sponsorship though.

Looks like we might get a CART race at Nashville too next year. It would be fun comparing speeds.
                        RIP Sammich

Not for me! I had a unique experience: I saw an IRL race and slept in my own bed that night. Just gotta be more careful about remembering where I parked the car next time...
