Saw that today. Sounds like a big promotion for St. Cyr. Congratulations to him, and thanks for his support of IndyCar through HPD.

It's becoming the standard progression within American Honda. The head of HRA (Honda R&D Americas) serves a term as president of HPD, and then goes back to an executive position in American Honda.

the most significant thing in Ted's background is that he was the "Large Project Leader" for the NSX and the NSX GT3. That term is Honda speak for Chief engineer. There is a lot of cross-over between the Indycar engine program and the engine that is now in the NSX.

On the IMSA side, it is also significant that Klaus has hybrid experience, because the next DPI platform will likely have a Hybrid element.

On the indycar side, I am sure that Klaus has more than a passing familiarity with Fuel Cell tech. I think the "next" indycar spec after the 2022 car may have some FC element to it.
