Sponsor Email War?

Should we all email Target, Shell, Pioneer USA, and Lilly to tell them to come to IRL? Seems like others are doing this to save them! Power to the People! I have emailed Target and Shell, Lilly is next!

I guess I should go home and use my Quicken to total the Target purchases. And show the marked increase that has come with their IRL participation.

I emailed Target as well and let them know that I have increased my Target shopping with their IRL sponsorship. I must admidt they have a nice store and it would be hard to go back to Wal Mart but if the dump the IRL for CART I may have to.

If anyone wants to contact these potential sponsors, I would hope that you use an approach that puts the IRL in a positive light instead of one that attacks CART.

Accentuate the positive. Attacking their current partnership can't be productive.

Ren makes a VERY good point. I merely thanked them for their support of the IRL, I made no denigrating remarks on CART. To do so would be to tell them that they are stupid to have been in CART. Nothing makes people madder than to tell them they were wrong all these years, but if you come to MY favorite, you'll be right. Show them the positives, and let them feel smart for coming to the IRL. Not DUMB for being in CART.

i found them at target.com and lilly.com. i think target was guest services and lilly's was investor relations.

Target has enjoyed a very successful partnership with Chip Ganassi Racing over the years. In 2002 we decided to expand our motorsports program in the NASCAR and IRL series because we saw it as a great chance to add value to our brand by joining a first-rate team.
The Target motorsports program now consists of three cars in CART, one car in NASCAR and one car in IRL. At this time, no decision has been made regarding Target Chip Ganassi Racing’s participation for 2003.

Basically I had just stated to them that I started attending their store more after they increased IRL support and that I was very happy with the stores. I also stated that I hoped they would continue to support thr IRL. As was stated above be polite and like the IRL take the high road. The email address is Target Guest Relations = [email protected]
