Ganassi's move looks great about now.

Really besides Newey, I don't think one person will make or break an entire organization.

Sudden and surprising. Wonder what gives.

...and Newey taught other people who went on to replicate what he did with aero at smaller teams. Arrows and Jordan around 2000-1 come to mind.

The last think you need at the beginning of a season is a change in leadership. This will set Honda back a ton. Now is the time they are working on the Indy engines.

I thought they've already completed homologation.

First off, relax. I don't believe he is actually designing the components of the engine. Second, maybe they have someone in the wings who is younger and better. Finally, it seems to me the last 18 plus months that ole Roger has not had exactly a great run IMO.

Definitely strange, considering the involvement in IndyCar and soon to be Daytona Prototypes.

Based on the wording is an unexpected change; he was either sacked or quit without warning.

                        That's the beginning:

1- new twin turbo for indycar
                        2- new DP engine
3- New AWD TLX racer (PWC)
4- Indycar aero kit for 2015
                        5- New P2 Coupe
                        6- New NSX GT racer
7- New NSX based P2 and DP engine

Its not like HPD wants for projects.

Doubt that. Likely has a non-compete clause.

more likely pissed off by something in 2014 budget. Which should worry Honda Fans.

To a borrow an F1/footy term, he might take some "gardening leave" before he pops back up in the paddock elsewhere.

A blow to Honda for sure, but I'm more interested in his replacement at this point.
