“Motorsports is an integral part of the Firestone brand marketing efforts and the entitlement sponsorship of the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg aligns perfectly with our plans,” said Lisa Boggs, director of Bridgestone Americas Motorsports. “Our commitment to the race is a reflection of our longstanding relationship with Green Savoree and the terrific St. Petersburg community and fans. We are proud to have the Firestone name on this outstanding event.”

Interesting pick up for Firestone taking the sponsorship from Honda. Any thoughts on Firestone taking over IZOD's title sponsorship? Any rumors heard for who will take the series' title?Motor Racing Scene's IndyCar, NiSWC and NASCAR Contributor

Cheerleader hat- Should be a great event as a doubleheader to kick off the season!
On the other- We are relying increasingly on few sponsors to float the series and that is reeeeaaaaly worrisome."Unfortunately, the business types who now permeate the sport don't share this same gut centered devotion. I can only hope that the truly addicted will prevail, and that the original spirit of open wheel competition will somehow manage to survive and prosper into the future."
