Looks like Rahal is pulling out all the stops for next year.

I'll predict on this day that Graham's 2014 season will be much more spectacular that '13.

It's amazing we didn't lose Pappas to NASCAR way back in the '90s when he had the chance.

Hope Wilson finds work on a top-notch team soon- would love to see him kick all the front runners butts next year.

Wow! I thought Pappas might join RLLR in 2014 but not as part of Graham's crew! I know people well **** and moan about RLLR stealing sponsors and personal from other teams but you gotta do what you gotta do at the end. Plus ultimately it was Bill's decision. Interesting time to be a RLLR fan these days.

Wouldn't surprise me in the least.

Something was missing for Graham last season. Hopefully, this is the answer.

Maybe Justin will follow Pappas to the Rahal team?

In the article it states that Pappas is joining Graham's team and I remember reading that one of the main reasons why Justin went back to Dale Coyne Racing was because Coyne was able to secure Pappas as his engineer. Personally I was hoping that RLLR would sign Pappas and Justin together and put them in their second car but now that Pappas is with Graham's team I can't see this happening. If you look at the field of drivers without contract Briscoe, Servia, and Wilson probably top the list. Since Pappas is going to Graham I have a feeling the second seat well be occupied by Briscoe - that's if the National Guard is really sponsoring Graham's car for 2014. There still seems to be some fogginess around that and what would happen to Big O Tire sponsorship if that happens.

Rahal is getting the best of everything---he really needs to start getting results to match. Let's hope in a couple years at most he starts finishing up front.

Obviously the hope is should they confirm the National Guard sponsorship, one would think they could perhaps bring over Justin Wilson. Justin and Graham worked very well together at Newman Haas.

Maybe I missed it but the one thing I don't think I have seen discussed is the amount of the sponsorship from NG. We know what it was at Panther but will it be the same at Rahal? They could easily move teams but cut the $$ back by 25% based on the TV numbers.

It's a full sponsorship, but is likely not nearly has much as Barnes was getting. Remember this contract went out to bid, and basically the team must run all the races, AND provide all those services to Guardsmen, their families, fans, etc. which Panther has been doing. So if say Barnes was doing all that for $12 million, RLLR may have "bid" $9 million. My point is it's unlikely they would have gotten the sponsorship without expecting that it would be sufficient for 1 full car.

Basically what I was getting at, just wondering if anyone had an actual $ figure.

Does anybody know what a top engineer like Pappas gets paid these days in ballpark figures?

Your last comment means Justin could work very well with anyone.
