Just curious on a few things. I noticed a few names have disappeared recently when, back then, I thought they'd get an IndyCar ride someday. So what happened to Charles Zwolsman, Jr., Tonis Kasemets, Franck Perera, Pablo Donoso, Markus Niemelن, and Jonathan Summerton? I know Wade's probably out of a ride completely. Baguette is just doing WEC, and Alex Lloyd won't be back... and Jay Howard's just kinda in limbo indefinitely...

Frank Perera is in GT racing. Kasemets races in Grand Am Continental Tires series. Jonathan Summerton has been focusing on Global Rallycross (not sure if he's raced or just trying to get something together). Markus Niemelن has been running USAC sprint cars and I think he made a NASCAR start (in the East or West series) last year. Pablo Donoso has been running Formula 3 and Formula Renault in South America.

Franck Perera- Did run some IndyCar in 2008, then ran some Super League, now he is in the GT scene in Europe.
Pablo Donoso- I'm friends with him on FB, he does some SuperMoto, offroad desert racing, karting, etc.
Markus Niemelن- Runs USAC West Coast Sprints and as I write this is 6th in points. I believe he finished 3rd in points in 2011 or 2012.
Jonathan Summerton- He drove a couple of races for the Rahal factory BMWs in ALMS in 2012 and he won Sebring. He had some great races, but after 2012 BMW and Rahal chose another blast form the past, John Edwards instead. To do something well is so worthwhile that to die trying to do it better cannot be foolhardy. - Bruce McLaren

Wade "The Blade" Cunningham ran the Fontana 500 last Summer for Foyt and went the distance in a very servicable drive. He's a good shoe. So is Jay Howard. A choice of either is acceptable for a small team looking for a properly trained, seasoned driver to simply go out and run the car. If I needed a budget driver for the RC race at Indy next May, I would be comfortable with either. Alas, their ships may have sailed unless they aggressively seek a ride for 2014 in Indy Cars, somewhere, at least once.
A curiosity for me is Enrique Bernoldi. I will add his name to the "Where Are They Now?" list of relatively recent combatants.

WTH is that? Is some dork actually documenting a fictionalized 2013 ChampCar series?
That's a bigger waste of time than those dorks that learn to speak Klingon."Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and your going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down." -- Edward Blume

I always see Tristan Gommendy racing a Seat in VLN at the Ring. Don't know if he does anything else besides that. Think it's more of a weekend racing with friends, but for all I know it's his job.MotorRacingblog.nl | Kwaliteitsblog
