Why can't they split the chicane on the start or restart like the ALMS does? That start was embarrassing?

Do not change anything... That "stupid chicane" and the bumps makes this a very challenging track and that makes for exciting races... It's challenging to drive with the DW12 and that while, according to people who never drove an IndyCar though, the DW12 isn't difficult to drive at all..IndyCar fan4ever.

Fair or not fair, those curbs and tires laid out in the middle of that straight, look like a kart track. The crowd was good. Baltimore found a way to get people to show up. Now they're going to have to address the layout if they want to make this a long term annual event.

And I'm not a fan of standing starts.

Then the red flag chopped it down to about 40 minutes racing. All i saw of the track was turn 1 to the hairpin, and what a section that is. The crest of the hill in that straight is awesome, those ALMS cars just ripping through there and getting light over the crest and slamming down through the gear box into the hairpinner with other cars rocketing back up the other side, the sound is what this is all about, all the different engine notes bouncing off the buildings. Sooo much more impressive in person.
My brother is now an avid Iphone video shooter junkie. He filled up his phone and camera, got home then learned not to burn gigs when the cars are under caution. He did a better job than I did. For one hour of racing, I ran out of memory half way through because I didn't delete my flat track shots, my bro has a nice vid of me deleting photos while cars are zipping by. It was amateur hour, no matter, I couldn't shoot through the iron bars any way. That is a proper safety fence.
Really liked the atmosphere inside the track, all the bars and restaurants along the harbor with the outside patios was real neat. It was nice during the break to walk along the water and catch that fresh air coming in, Nice breeze.
The answer i see, (this occured at the start of VIR last year as well, Proto type wrecked in 1 lap 1 and the GTs came crashing right in.) They need to stagger the starts, a gap between classes. Baltimore should be rough and tough.
I thought the Indycars begged for a standing start as well. but they got off clean!Last edited by Unzerdog; 09-02-2013, 08:52 AM."Far better it is to dare mighty things, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat" -Teddy Roosevelt
