What would you like to see,..

at IMS? I enjoy all forms of racing, and I've wondered what else would draw well at IMS. What would you be willing to pay to see:

1:an IRL race on the road course
2:a 12 or 24 hour alms/grand am ala rolex
3:a CART race on the oval
4:a CART race on the road course (backwards)
5:super bikes on the road course
6:GT cars on the road course
7:funny cars on hulman blvd

Personally, the enduro is the most appealing to me. OK, so this is off topic, but so is 9/10s of the rest posted here lately.

The only thing I would add is a superbike race during the weekend of the USGP.

The Indy 500 is the traditional appeal. #1
The Brickyard has the popular appeal. #2
& The USGP has the international appeal. #3

A 24 hour race with a place in the infield for motorhomes. Sign me up now!

The Speedway at night gives me goosebumps. I doubt that feeling would be the same all lit up but it still would be a special deal.

A simultaneous IRL oval race and an F1 road (backwards) race.

IRL cars exiting Turn 4 would have to be on the lookout for F1 cars exiting onto the oval before pit lane, and then try to race them into Turn 2, where the F1 cars would exit, and the IRL cars would continue around the oval.

There would be two seperate winners, but the race would have an ALMS effect with two differnt classes of cars.

It would be interesting to see an F1 car exiting onto the oval on the straight, and then trying to drag with an IRL car at full speed.

If you wanted, mix in some CUP cars for a third class, and let the fun begin.

2) Yes, the 24 hour version, but only if the U.S. Grand Prix ultimately bonks
3) H@LL NO
4) Maybe, but only if Formula One dumps the U.S. Grand Prix, and the ALMS or Grand Am series aren't interested for whatever insane reason
5) As a support race to U.S. Grand Prix or other options listed above if that bonks, yes
6) Maybe as support race to U.S. Grand Prix or OOLA if that bonks
7) WHY, with perfectly good IRP not that far away???

Tony George has a working alliance with the France family, who are on the opposite side of ALMS, so that won't work. Their Grand Am series is mediocre at best, so I would forget that.

I do think super bikes would be the next logical step.

There is a rumor that the IPS series will show up as a support series at one of the two events on the "big track."

I've only seen clips of the supertrucks on Motorsports Mundial. I'm not sure the safer barrier would withstand those bad boys.


I'd like to see Dale race the big brown truck in that league.

My personal choice would be a 24 hour race. But if it has to be Grand AM and not ALMS because of political reasons I say wait until those issues are resolved or Grand AM gets it's act together.
