When is the Las Vegas race going to be officially announced? I'm ready to buy my airfare and book my hotel.

Bernard said last week that it would be shortly. They are just dotting the i's and crossing the t's at this point.

Is the whole contract the word "it?"
      What happened?

I'm hoping for this as there are killer air fares out of Duluth, Mn. (only a 40 minute drive!).

To be honest with you I don't ever remember there being an official announcement of a signed contract for the Brazil race last year and it went off as planned.

No, the words "initial" and "tintinabulation" are in there, too.

So IndyCar just showed up on a Thursday and asked if they could have a race?

I seem to recall an official announcement and subsequent threads arguing whether it would be finished in time.

I didn't say there wasn't a contract. Let me speak real slowly so even you can comprehend. I said I don't remember an announcement...I follow IndyCars pretty closely, so what I am implying is that is an announcement of a contract isn't that big of a deal and from what I remember --which is nothing -- the Brazil contract signing must've been a pretty low key deal . What I am saying is that I believe the Las Vegas race will happen and I am not worried about it.

Oh, and Sesame Street is brought to you today by the letter "h".

I would be pretty excited about it... Bernard referred to it as the "World Championship" and how he wanted to build it to be the schedule's other "big big event" besides the 500.

If it's anything like what he did with the PBR, I would expect the World Championship to be hyped up all year long.

October is Convention month in Vegas. Expect room rates to be very high.

Even Vegas Insiders say there is no rhyme or reason to hotel prices changing. I just looked at the base rate at MGM for that weekend in October, and it's the same price as the first weekend of July when I'm going....Every month is convention month in Las Vegas.....
