Your Top 5 Favorite Current IndyCar Drivers Survey

With all the Top 5 driver threads abounding and with an influx of new friends from IndyCar Nation (hi there!), I thought this might be a fun time to do a little survey to see the most popular active IndyCar drivers as of now.

Here’s how it’ll work:

List your 5 favorite active drivers in a response. We’ll define “active” as “has driven an IndyCar at some point in the past year, or has a reasonable chance of doing so in 2011”. Remember, this is active drivers only, not an all-time list.

If you mention a driver in your Top 5 (no points for honorable mentions, double mentions in the same list, or extended lists), I’ll give them a point. I’ll tally up the points after a week or so, and present the board’s favorite drivers, circa Feb. 2011!

"BEST"
1. Dario Franchitti (Raining Champ and 2X Indy Winner. Stones enough to go 1000 MPH too!)
2. Scott Dixon (Close to #1, but his teammate beat him at Indy and in the points last year)
3. Will Power (Always tough to judge talent when you're in a Penske, but good enough last year for #3 at least to me)
4. Tony Kanaan (If he had been in a Penske or Ganassi car the past several years...)
5. Dan Wheldon (Still competitive for wins in sub-par equipment. I don't think Briscoe, Castroneves, Hunter-Reay, etc would be as good. Dan is under-rated)

Paul Tracy (If he had a full-time ride, he is still better than 90% of the field)
Helio Castroneves (If he can win a Championship)
Ryan Hunter-Reay (If he takes the next step this year)
Justin Wilson (If he drove for Penske/Ganassi)
