  • Hoosier Hero ?

Does anyone have knowledge about if Hoosier Tire could be a viable option for Indycar tires in the future ?

All Hoosier sells as far as tires for the street are race type tires. We are talking Drag radials and DOT racing tires. There is no need for them to advertise as they already sell only to hobbiest and racing people.

My guess would be that they don't have the resources nor a compelling marketing reason to do so.

Technically, Hoosier could likely build a suitable tire for IndyCars.

Would they be a suitable IndyCar partner? No...they would have no reason (and no money) to spend on activation... sponsoring races, buying signage/suites/midway at tracks, buying media ads touting their association, etc.
Since Hoosier currently only builds 'race tires', they would not be in the position of subsidizing actual tire costs to teams as part of a marketing exercise.

(btw, same argument as having Speedway Engines as an engine supplier).

No way. Hoosier tire? Who has hoosier tires on their car?

Losing Firestone is a huge hit. Unexpected, and a massive step back among the good news.
