Prior to going to the link provided, I really thought this was about Bryan Clauson and his getting the big $300,000.00 scholarship monies to help him obtain a Firestone Indy Lights ride - which probably won't last - for him, in my way of thinking.
To show ya how out of touch I've been about "American" names in IndyCarIndy Lights etc etc racing, I've never heard of Charlie Kimball. Am I to take it that he's never run midgets and sprint cars?

This series has a long way to go to come back from deadsville....
Would have been nice to celebrate about a dozen.
6 full time Americans and 1 part timer. And ALL of the Americans are very good drivers, not just field fillers. I'm stoked! This series is not the IRL or champ car. Its IndyCar. Where we have a fine mix of the best in the world and I'm glad a few of our countrymen are good enough to compete and given the chance they deserve."Beauty is in the eye of the Beer-holder."
15G. Rahal
5 J. Hinchcliffe
18. S Bourdais
98 A. Rossi

Bruce Martin has been covering IndyCar for Versus.com for awhile. SI.com is not unfortunately the same thing as SI the magazine, meaning Martin's article probably wouldn't appear in print to be read at an MD's office. However, it's nice to get coverage in many places. ESPN's is highly questionable and Yahoo! has horrible coverage."If your car was a dog, then you had to figure it out and test your own limits. And we didn't go to a wind tunnel – we did it in the first turn at Indianapolis."
