  • Dear Verizon/IndyCar....

All I want for christmas this year is to be able to have the IndyCar series radio on my Verizon V-Cast service. I can already listen to NHL/NFL live game audio and sometimes watch college football. So can we please have IndyCar radio feeds of the races put on there for this season? I would be nice to listen to at work or on the road since i don't have XM/Sirius.

    Thanks.

    Dear mcman7890,

Verizon called......said to tell you IndyCar and Verizon are working on a new app for a bunch of devices....will probably include live stream. More than likely not radio.

    They said sorry.

Why can't live streaming air the race? That's what Indycar.com does now. I don't see what the difference is?

Can't you use the web browser to go to a station web site that carries the races and stream them? Or does your phone just have V-Cast and not full web capability?

When the Indycar Android app first released you could listen to the radio call live. I did it for Sonoma I believe. Then they updated it with live timing and scoring (which worked great for Homestead) and the live audio stream was no longer availalble.

If you stream 1070 The Fan in Indianapolis, is the stream of the race blocked??

I was just about to say the same thing, The blog oil pressure discussed how great it was to be able to drive around TN and listen to an Indianapolis Indiana radio station

for the fans that have smart phones, text 3406 to verizon and receive their free indycar download. it features live streaming, updates on news and driver standings and i believe audio for the race. hope this helps

I have an iPhone with the TuneIn radio app, it's great I can listen to almost any radio station in the country. The only problem is the radio stations don't stream their sports online due to contractual obligations. Normal shows and programs you can hear without any problems but actual games are "blacked out". I live outside Chicago but live and die with the Packers, 620AM will have the pre/post Packers shows on but not the game itself. If I'm not home with Directv, I have to find a AM radio to tune onto 620AM the old fashion way. Now is IndyCar like this on 1070AM? I don't know, but I would find out before you rely on it.

Doesn't the web stream already have the IMS radio guys?

This is just another reason why I come to Trackforum. Great information. I just searched the IZOD Indycar android app and found it immediately. And downloaded it immediately. I don't see a link on it for Live Timing & Scoring. Does that come up as a link when there's actually a race weekend?
