  • Road America

It is, without a doubt, one of the greatest road courses in the United States.

So, Randy, when does it get back on the schedule? Oh how I long to see twenty cars pushing through the kink again...

(and can we add laguna while we're at it )

My favorite course - if not exactly in my back yard. If IndyCar makes it there, you're going to see more than 20 cars pushing through.

as soon as they pick it up and move it somewhere that's not in the middle of nowhere so they can pay a reasonable sanction fee.

If you are going to do that, get IMS the hell out of Indiana.

What makes Road America great is its location. Blasting through the forest at speed, the elevation change, thats what makes a track.

I hope Cottman releases the regs soon, it's seems Track Forum has run out of things to talk about.
Speed has never killed anyone, suddenly becoming stationary… that's what gets you.

The current contract with Infinoen doesn't allow them to race at Laguna Seca.

I would love to see Road America back on the schedule, but it will have to make financial sense, and at the moment nobody even knows whether the Milwaukee race will be a succes at all.

My brother is an old USAC'er from way back , but he has plenty of fond memories of Road America from the 80's on. I believe that was also the track that (ssshhhh) Eddie Gossage mentioned as his all-time favorite for atmosphere. I'd love to get up there soon, not only for the atmosphere and history but for the variations and changes in curves and slopes.

I remember watching '99 race. Montoya led, easy, easy car, very, very boring, then the car failed and I smiled. Montoya could go flat out through kink, it was so easy for him. I remember the onboard cam of Robby Gordon in Menards car just like today, he had to lift there. Then I watched 2000 race and then never again. 2000 race was a joke.

RA could be on shcedule, but only on expense of other RC.

No Ra should be an addition to the schedule without dropping any other track

ALMS moving back to Saturday for 2011 is in anticipation of "something" filling the schedule on Sunday in 2012.

This year Sunday is a Corvette celebration or some such.
                        What happened?

ALMS moving to Saturday was in anticipation of a possible 6 hour race which would run into the evening, it had nothing to do with IndyCar or anything else on Sunday.

It would be a perfect fit and I hope it happens, but the Milwaukee Mile needs to be successfully promoted before adding RA.

Road America is really the only proper road course in America. It's the Spa of America and should be on the schedule. That said, until John Menard decides to put up a 7 digit sponsorship it probably won't happen. IndyCar is still
too sensitive to sanctioning fees to run there for nothing.
