  • All systems 'go' at andretti autosport for 2011

    http://www.andrettiautosport.com/New...ws_Dec_10_2010

"Andretti Autosport is fortunate to have a deep pool of loyal, long-term sponsors, which will play a major role in the team’s plan to have four cars take the green flag at the season-opener in St. Petersburg.

A fifth entry for the Indianapolis 500 is also far along in the planning stages."

Could this 4th be a Wheldon drive? I know the rumors were that he would drive for "nothing" if he could go back to AA. That would be a huge plus for that team.

That release really says very little, but I have to think that some kind of ride buying will play into that 4th car.

On a positive note, glad to hear Sage Karam is moving up to Star Mazda, and that he won an award named after John Blewitt III, a great young NJ modified racer who died 3 years ago.

Andretti retweeted some sponsor stuff from RHR yesterday, but they can't say who yet, so there is a sponsor on hand for his car forthcoming.

It's kind of fun to see some crazy good talent coming up the ranks.

5th car will (Indy only) will be driven once again by John Andretti, bringing his own Window World sponsorship. I read on John's board that AA empoyees say this is pretty much a done deal.
What does Carroll bring to AA? Wasn't his limited run last season funded by longtime AA sponsor Boost Mobile?

I know it will be John, would just like to see Tomas compete in good equipment at the Indy. I think he could pull one out.

Carroll didn't bring much more than a seat filler to AA last season. I think that was his audition, and IMHO getting passed by Milka says, you fail.

Tomas would be fun to watch, but I'm pretty sure if there's a 5th for Indy, it'd be John Andretti. Which I'm never going to have a problem with.

I would love to watch John drive, if he could make it to the end. He may be family, but why waste the equipment on a subpar driver? IMHO

I think John should probably hang em up by now. Not that AA is a supreme favorite to win, but a guy like Dan Wheldon would actually be one in their car. What's Andretti going to finish, 15th?

Maybe he's trying to poach them for a 4th Penske ride.

I'm pretty sure Marco Andretti has an apartment in that building. That's probably where Tomas was hanging out at.
