I would love to see DW join HVM and be an oval mentor to Simona.

That won't ever happen. They barely have the money to keep her in a car, let alone put a known driver like DW.

Simona needs to take that subpar equipment to a top 3 finish if not a win this year, then sign with a bigger team with better equipment next year, and she will be competitive.

Really? He finished 2nd and 4th twice in the final standings his 3 years with Cheep and won 6 races. Certainly not as dominant as he was at AGR, granted, but I can think of a lot of drivers who would happily endure some bad seasons like that.

I was speaking from memory. 2nd and 4th are certainly very respectable, but admittedly that was done in highly dominent equipment. And, didn't he finish behind his teammate (who had equal equipment) all of those years? Not bashing Dan, just being honest about one of my favorite drivers. He has been off his game for several years, IMHO.
