Chery is going to be hitting the US market very soon. Indycar wants a race in China pretty bad from my understanding. Probably easier to get into open wheel racing than NASCAR right now. Anyone see this happening.
We want to relate to Americana. I went to the Indy 500 and that was Americana. I sat in various turns and I didn’t see any champagne drinkers, but I saw a lot of beer drinkers. We appeal to the wine and cheese crowd, but we also appeal to the masses – the beer drinkers.” Randy Bernard

Chery is already here. The engines in the John Deere 825i Gators are Chery engines.

Also, XXX sprint car chassis's are made by a Chinese manufacturer here in the states. They are basicly a Maxim chassis clone.

I don't see them wasting money on racing efforts. There idea is to develop China into and economic and industrial giant.

A while, Hyundai has been here over 20 years and just now has gotten around to building some performance cars and getting their feet wet in motorsports (though still probably spending less than $1M/year on motorsports).

I'm sure you know, Hyundai is a Korean mfg. I agree it will be some time, if ever, that the Chinese mfg get into racing.

I don't know but I hope they decide to call it the Buick Special.

Maybe China is "heavily positioned" in today's GM IPO...

Hyundai used to compete in WRC. And I guarantee that was more than $1M/year.

That what I was about to say. When is the Chevy IPO.

Chinese copy things because they have history cultural view similar to the American Indian. There is no real intellectual property it is all of the earth. Not that it is right just to understand. Intellectual property is fairly new Western thing that really was part of nations founding. Life, Liberty and Pursuit of Happiness. Th Pursuit of Happiness was at first property but in a more abstract way it was more the fruits of your intellectual and manual work. That those fruits of labor belongs to you as a individual as a basic human right. Before that things either belonged to a King or the earth. Clearly our young nation has it right but forgive a 5000 year old culture if it is a little slow to come around. With the way we are going soon everything will again belong to the State.
You cannot wrangle chaos. You can only try to plan for it.

Are the Jonas Brothers Chinese or Native-American?

Although noticing 'a few similarities' between his song and the band's, Jason Mraz has no intention to sue them.
