  • End of the tunnel: 2012?

Engines: Honda, GM, FIAT and Cosworth-Lotus?
    Chassis: Dallara, Lotus?

I would say the that IndyCar may have finally turned the corner.

Now we just need to get the sponsors lining up again.

This thread will have about three replies and be off page one by the end of the day. People don''t know what to do with good news around here...

I think you can probably add an aero kit for each engine manufacturer involved. How serious are the Fiat rumors right now? And Ford?

One of TF's most prolific posters seems to agrees with you. (Stolen from the GM thread):

I agree too. Maybe we can surprise the nabobs.

You do realize that all of this "end of the tunnel" stuff happens just in time for the end of the world, right?

As long as that is a Terry A. announcement, we are safe.

                Funny!

This is all good news. Things seem to be snowballing. IZOD is throwing a lot of advertising dollars around, makes it a lot easier to sell. Also, do not forget all the rumors about the F1 teams and their aero kits, and the Jaguar rumors.

their just seems to be something "right" with having a Turbo Ford engine in the indy 500. it would make me very happy to have them back. I really like what they are doing as a company right now but understand that racing budgets arent the top of their list BUT! i would really really love to see them take it to honda.

I've lived through at least 2 "ends of the world"...1984 and 2000. I think Harold Camping predicted another one 1994-95? Tony George says there will be no 2013 so who knows.

From what's been rumored, you almost have to assume that either by 2012 or 2013, that nearly every potential engine supplier would be making/branding their own aero kits. The automakers don't seem to like the idea of having a Lotus-Honda or Dallara-Chevy, etc. They want only their name said.

Seems like the financials for the Series has improved greatly from the time that statement was made.
