  • Lobby for ABC/IMS to bring back Paul Page's "Delta Force" Intro for the 2011 Race

Post here if you would like the 80's/90's intro back. One time, please make this happen for us fans... Who can we send letter to? Where do we call? How can we make this happen?

"A life can be changed in the flicker of an eye..."

"Some are young, brash, aggressive..." "...others come from across the sea, mature, studied, driven..."

"Streaming to a single point two narrow for both"

"Two men willing to pay the ultimate price"

"...joins a line that reaches back into history"

Every race I run in is in preparation for the Indianapolis 500. Indy is the most important thing in my life. It is what I live for. - Al Unser Jr.

Everything I ever wanted in my life, I found inside the walls of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. - Eddie Sachs.

Just bring back Paul Page period.

FWIW they can leave him on the hot dog eating contest...I don't think he will lose focus broadcasting one Indycar race a year.

It's not just hot dogs... Mr. Page does close to 100+ hours of coverage for 23 NHRA events on ESPN2...

I thought the whole reason those intros were abandoned is that Paul didn't think they were appropriate for the split series. Now... why not? Has Disney even asked him to do the 500 again? Knowing what we all know about them, probably not...

I completely agree. I was thinking the same thing while watching some old intros and races last night. I was actually talking to a guy at work today about it

Can we just bring back those broadcasts period? I miss Paul, Posey and Uncle Bobby and Arute's segments were actually half-intelligent and interesting back then. Sorry, I just watched the '92 500 again last night and was noticing how much better the production was back then.
There's only one 500 that matters, and it isn't in Florida in February.

We're actually bringing them back for the open to our special next May.

You mean like when they cut to the wrong camera and missed ..."Perhaps the closest finish in the Indianapolis 500."

                  Seriously? This would be amazing!

                      Yeah, that's my plan.

And I hope to invite Paul Page to voice it.

I'm sorry, but the song is horribly dated. If you want to find good intro music, look to video games. The work these guys are doing is amazing.
Speed has never killed anyone, suddenly becoming stationary… that's what gets you.

uh, no please do not bring that back. I have no problem hearing it watching an old race, but that is not the way to go today

It's definitely dated, but as a "homage" part of the open to the special, it will work just fine.
