  • Silly Season 2011

I was listening to Mike King and Davey Hamilton on the weekly Indy Car program last night and they said that this up coming silly season is going to be the craziest ever. They said Sato and Lotus on the move? With Kanaan, Wheldon, and others on the move this is going to be fun. They believe the car count will be up but it will be totally different than this year. Interesting cant wait to see what happens. Let us know what you have heard. Go getem open wheelers.

Lotus isnt on the move, they made a big deal about being with KV in some autosport article. They're even having 2 cars.

I heard from a fairly reliable soource that Wheldon alleady talked to Mikey and offered to drive for him next year for free. TK is looking at Panther or KV, but would have to take a pay cut (no kidding). I think his best chance of winning the Indy 500 next year would be with Panther.

Maybe Tony will make the same offer to Barnes.

Barnes gave Dan Wheldon a real good paycut.

If TK was to offer to drive for free at Panther, wouldn't it make better sense to try to match Wheldon's offer to AA?

Wheldon's offer is a butt in the seat at no charge to Mikey...How can TK make a better offer, pay Barnes so he could drive? That's taking the term "ride buyer" too far. Now, if Tony could bring Apex-Brasil, that's a different matter.

TK and DWs deals are all interesting but so is Grahams. whos he going to drive for? would target allow chip to run a 3rd car with someone else sponsoring it? maybe RLR comes back for him or maybe he ends up back at NH. Satos/lotus/kv seem very solid and lotus will sponsor a 2nd car. maybe a good place for TK or DW. having one of those guys would really be a step in the right direction for KV after the damage from this season. id go so far as to say they could challenge for wins in KV equipment.

btw does anyone know if Rafa is safe? that team wasnt up to speed this year.

Sato absolutely deserves to be out of the league. He is not good enough to be in Indycars. Period. Lotus should move on and pick up a real driver.

I think that might be a tad hyperbolic. Its not like he's another Milka out there.

Ya, and boot that Will Power kid. His first season results weren't very good and he came from that awful ChampCars league or whatever it was called GET RID OF HIM.

Never saw any mention of that in millrace's post. Why was that necessary?

Sato(to me) was a huge disappointment this year. I expected him to struggle on ovals but the road courses should ahve been a place he should have done better then he did. A lot of wrecks on the road courses for someone with his road racing background. 2011 will be a much better test of how good or bad Sato is in Indycars.
