It cost more today than before, but some of the teams i knew 98- 2005 ,would be proud to gotten 3 Mil plus winnings to run a one car team, and at times people were not paid. 4mil- 5 would be a better fit.
to really be where you need to be, 2nd car important, testing, spares, good talent. In 1978 when I hung with a team, one car operation, no transporter, hand ful of people that loved racing,
and a lot of long hours in the garage area I bet a few hundred thousands
. Ran and completed most all races and did ok.
