  • USAC driver wins FIL race

The FIL's race was a great on. Brandon Wagner racing for Davey Hamilton's team comes thru with the win. He and Hinch had one hell of a battle for most of the race. But maybe RB is onto something getting USAC drivers into FIL. This should win should make that effort a little easier.

Not bad for an untrainable front engine short track driver.

If he had two years in Atlantics he would have won it by 5 more seconds.

Just what Robin needs for the off season. We'll never hear the end of it now.

With two years of formula car racing in the books. Good for him! Now let's hope he can back it up next year, then obtain some funding and get an Indy car ride.

Actually he has only done like 13 races in FIL's. Not sure if he has done any races in any other series or not.

This is how you develop talent: you don't b*tch about it - you go out and do it. Davey Hamilton put skin in the game and there is a young, American driver taking advantage of it and learning a skilled form of racing as he goes along.

You want more Americans driving? Then quit complaining about it and start a team. Whining is wasted time and destructive. Jumping in and doing it, getting it done, is the only way YOU can stop what you see as the "hoards of foreign locusts" (not my term, a term used elsewhere on this forum by the oval-only, Americans first crowd).

Yes, I want more Americans. Do they have to earn it? Definitely. Just like the foreign drivers do. Drive welll, learn well, and expend some shoe leather putting together the money it takes to run at the top level, and you can become an Indy Car driver.

                Good work, Davey and Brandon.

Cool, hope to see more from USAC and other developmental series like USF2000 and Star Mazda too!

                      Good post!

It was pointed out in a thread of it's own that got little attention but props should also be given to Andretti Autosport. They too have an 'American' driver, Sage Karam that they've been helping develop and bring up the ladder who won the USF2000 series title.
