  • Mike King on JMV yesterday ???

Anyone catch it? What was said? All I heard was JMV jacking up Mike King after the interview - something about him being all red faced and angry?

It's so hard to listen to the dopey Mike King. He was saying during practice Friday that Dixon, Franchitti and Castro were on the same driving level as Foyt, Andretti, the Unsers and Rahal. Then he threw in Hornish. This guy needs to be replaced if there is any chance of the sport growing nationally, let alone internationally. His universe ends at the Marion County line.

Well he lives in Vigo County, so that statement is already untrue.

And I disagree with you on Mike King, while I wouldn't put Dixon, Dario and Helio in Foyt or Andretti's class, he's good for the series.

I have great doubt that Mike King is keeping the series from growing, nationally or internationally. His commentary might be off-based at times but he does an exceptional job in calling races making it quite easy to get a mental picture of what's happening.

Actually what he was saying is that those drivers are on par with the drivers of that era due to the number of wins and chamionships and that Dario is one of like 5 divers to win 2 Indy 500's and championships. And that Foyt is one of the other 5. If I remember Dario, Dixon and Helio are all in the teens as far as placing in the all time list tied with drivers from that era.

Mike King wasn't on JMV. On the live feed during practice Friday, Mike went off on Danica and how she needs to decide whether she wants to be an IndyCar driver or a NASCAR driver. It was a pretty long winded tirade. He sounded pretty angry about the whole situation. JMV read about it on TrackForum (yes, he mention us by name) and was asking any callers who heard it to call in and recap what happened.
