  • Randy should try to get Barrett Jackson auctions in Vegas

Seems like it would be a perfect fit. Auction runs Thursday-Saturday and the race on Sunday. If you cannot get those people to the race then I'd say all hope is lost.
Speed has never killed anyone, suddenly becoming stationary… that's what gets you.

Why? You think they are the same demographic? Do you see a guy ready to drop half a million on a rare Ferrari the same guy that is going to spill beer sitting behind you?

This is the end of the season. If you want top-dollar, you auction your racing series off in the Spring.

There are more than just the buyers and sellers there. Plus, do you think the people at the BJ auctions wouldn't attend the races?

I'm just saying it would be good for IndyCar to be in town the same weekend as it could help bring attendance up. It certainly cannot hurt.

How about the IICS provides every hooker in Vegas two free tickets to the race .... then you could declare one seating area "BJ Heaven" .... with folks from the Barrett Jackson auction, and, well ....

So have I though not on the buyer or seller sides. I have driven the cars and held the clip board wrangling them into position. I don't see much of a racing interest in the crowds at auctions.

Mecum's holds their Indy auction the week of the 500.

I'll agree with you in that the crowd wouldn't go out of it's way to see a race, but what if the race was in town?
