Not a lot of passing. But the race allowed Dario and Will to finish 2nd and 3rd, making Homestead finale an important race. The long yellow was a big bummer. And Danica a rare top 5 for her. Too bad Simona and her car were not better. A 7

Great crowd, and I like ovals that actually force the drivers to... you know... drive. But the field got crushed by HCN, crushed by the big two and a half, and way spread out. Had to give it a 6.

Oval fan but could only give this one a 5. No challenge for the lead. Top of field appeared to be follow the leader.

Grrrrrr! I'm rating it a ZERO (but not voting in the poll) just because I didn't get to see it! Since it was on Versus, I didn't get to see it on TV, and it was over before I got home at 11 PM to watch it via computer. I did talk to my semi-famous cousin living in Japan, and he said it was "pretty cool." And "pretty cool" from him gets a thumbs up, as back in the 1960s, he taught me how to roll down the back window of our Grandmother's 1958 Plymouth station wagon, and step out the back and bumper surf while doing 70 mph down the freeway! Next year I'm planning on being there in person.

Had a long day and fell asleep during the yellow. Seemed ok before that.

As usual, lengthy yellow-flag laps to facilitate wholesale pit-stops. Why was there the need for 5 caution laps after PT brushed the wall? There was no parts or carbon-fiber that came off his car. Why couldn't the safety truck make a quick pass to make sure there was no debris on the track and then go back green?? More and more I'm becoming a staunch believer that routine pit-stops should not be allowed under caution. It congests pit-lane with every car coming in making it dangerous for both the drivers and the crews, not to mention it lengthens the number of caution laps.

Overall I rate it a 7 - I'd say it was a 6 in terms of excitement but the fact that there was an IndyCar race on TV and the fact that I enjoyed watching it bumps it up to a 7. Plus I give the Japanese fans (well all fans that attended the race no matter where they were from) two thumbs up.

Ditto all of this. And going off the air at 2:15 AM? They need to pick up "5-Hour Energy" as a sponsor.
Even though my heart wants Wilbur to win the championship, my head tells me that Franchitti will somehow slip his way into being the final IRL champion.

                        I also give it a 5.

A few drivers tested a second groove now and then. But the leaders, the broadcast time, and the overall quality of the series really hurt the score.
No weather forecasts are ever guaranteed, even if confidence level is high. Even a 99% probability will miss 1% of the time. That's the best anybody can do when predicting highly complex events.

My lowest rated oval, not because of bad racing or long yellows, just because of the fact it had to be in a foreign country which made the viewing here at a ridiculous hour for watching a race.

                          IMHO.

It was actually fun staying up and chatting with everyone, but I'm glad we only do it once a year!

Not my favorite race this year, but still had its moments. The last, loooooooong yellow was a killer, especially at 1:30am.

I didn't care about the time, but that race was boring. 5.
