  • Liar's Poker - Racer's Lap Times

I was just looking at my past lap times from previous Racer's runs. My best time to date is a 24.89.

Incidently, I have GoFast listed on one of my sheets as 20.08. Guess you will have to believe me since he cannot be there to back it up. Ovals Rule was also on the sheet, but I won't give his time away.

Trevor83 went tonight, and I heard he couldn't break 23 seconds.

Hey Rev. Can I be the bookie? - say the closest to their previously stated time splits the prize with the actual lowest elapsed time. The catch is you must have a minimum of 150 posts (to keep the ringers out) and you have to disclose your real identity

What irks me (maybe its too soon for the truth), DW was a 16-oval WIN specialist, yet the vast majority those boohooing for him, hardcarders & fans, alike are the same ones trying to kill anything with more than 9 deg banking & 4 corners, where Dan ultimately made his home...

As a point of reference the track is longer now than it was the 1st time you went.
If the league is not going to shift their stance on the fees I would imagine all of the ovals would start being replaced by "chamber of commerce financially supported" TV infomercials dressed up like a car race for different city centers across the USA.

Book what you want, Gator. Just keep it legal and don't tell anyone about my 15 sec. time, OK?

I ran in the 19's after that Gator! It was on the old configuration I must admit though.

Can't wait to try the new layout next time I'm in town.

And where did you hear that? I broke 23 seconds on the warmup. I had a **** the first time out. I know that because Roadrage was with me and I know he's around 50 pounds heavier than I am and he was pulling away on the straight. With me flat out! Somehow I still managed a 21.69 with it. The second kart I got was much better! I must say its alot like an IRL race there. The equipment isn't hang on to your *** stuff like Fasttimes. There's a revlimiter and it was driving me crazy. Had to learn a whole new way to drive instead of the Paul Tracy bonzai method. I was down to 21.03 when I left. There were bigger guys than I out there hanging on my tail so I know I still don't have it yet but I know what I was doing wrong. I prefer the whiteknuckle feel of Fasttimes equipment but Racers definitely has a nicer facility, scoring, suits and helmets and karts. Its a tough call but Fasttimes is closer to home for me. I will see you boys on the 21st and I WILL crack that 21 second barrier at the least. For a reference, fast lap of the day was 20.5. Track record is 19.8 set by Scott Sutton.(who's he?)

Kind of an "old" post to bring up, but I turned 3 successive 20.29's at Racer's (my first time there) yesterday.

And it is by far superior to Stefan's I must say.

Ok, my goal is at least 20.5 tonight. I've got admit Racers isn't that easy. I took to Fasttimes right off but I'm scrubbing in the corners too much at Racers

                    I went faster!

                    This is what I did:
Brake for the first hairpin just as you exit from under the upper level, and make sure to make as smooth an arc as is possible. Power on before the apex, drifting out to the barrier, and drive to the far right before the left hand hairpin. I stood on the brakes there, turning the kart nearly 90 degrees on the spot, then power on across the turn, only going about to the middle of the track. Then tap the brakes or maybe not for the hard right, either way making sure to stay fairly tight to the right along the slow bend. Then the left hairpin: I ran ~30 laps exiting very tight, which definitely bound the kart up. Running out to about half the track width is much better. Then back all the way to the left for the last turn, flat out through, using up all the road. Times:
                    18: 20.289, 19: 20.290, 20: 20.296
