Does anyone know the name of the doctor that helped Buddy Lazier with a special seat after he broke his back? Any contact info would be appreciated.

disturbed,
I have no clue who made the seat but would imagine it was a two-part foam seat made by the team (as 99% of the drivers were using at the time). The original post was regarding who made the seat AFTER Buddy broke his back. The two-part foam seats are no longer allowed and have been replaced impact absorbing beaded foam made by Mark1 and several others. Bottom line who cares who made the seat he was using at Phoenix and who confirmed it was the seat that caused the injury. Anyone that follows racing knows that, unfortunatly, sometimes it takes an injury like Buddy's before people look at making improvement in driver protection.

disturbed...
The "seat in the box, fish pump method" is a beaded foam seat and the teams certainly can do their own provided they pass inspection. Most teams elect to use the the services of those that are in the business of making seats. What all of this has to do with the original thread is beyond me. Since I'm new around here I'll reserve judgement, but based on what I've seen so far you chose your user name well

The intent of the thread was to find out which doctor had a hand in shaping Buddy's seat for good back support for racing with a back injury. I'm in a similar situation, and I knew there'd be an insider or two lurking, thanks!
I was planning on doing a beaded foam seat myself until the injury, but now I'd like to get some advice from a pro.
