  • Who is the analyst?

Who made the disparaging remarks about Geibler and his team that they are talking about on live streaming . Ouch!

I have a couple of guesses, but no one in particular. I think he was a little right though. One race, starting and finishing in the back is not a veteran the same as others. He even crashed on day three last year. A last minute rushed entry to a rookieish driver is dangerous. As he proved, rushing and Indy don't always go together. You can say Ch8 was wrong, but Giebler is in the hospital after crashing...

I guess he said something like 'a rookie like Geibler had no business in that car.'

I guess someone who would say that has 'no business on television.'

Criticizing American Dream or Giebler is one thing, but to make factual errors and then attacking people using those errors is worthy of rebuke, IMO.
No weather forecasts are ever guaranteed, even if confidence level is high. Even a 99% probability will miss 1% of the time. That's the best anybody can do when predicting highly complex events.

              DD:

( insert name here) "shouldnt be on track and has no business in a car"...

It started with John Paul Jr. and nows it Geibler.

DD, put the mic down and back away....

He crashed on day three last year and had to bump in the next day. He crashed during last year's race. He crashed on his first day on the track this year. You think his resume merited a rushed attempt?

                  Is he a rookie?

Not officially. But many rookies this year have way more expirence. He past the rookie tests last year and then crashed three times since. He might not be a "true" rookie, but he is not up to par for what they tried to do.

That is an opinion worth noting, the other was a "fact" without basis.. no comparison imho

Jusme: I think when you take on the position of analyst and you become hypercritical of those in the game as you sit outside of it, you open yourself up to scrutiny. You had better have you facts straight or your words will ring hollow.

The media constantly inserts thier two cents. Every station and network does this. It just happens that this guy's opinion rubbed someone wrong. Maybe he should have said "and inexpirenced driver like Giebler might not be such a good match in that car"... same sentiment, different words.

Giebler's career consists of 106 race laps.

He is very much a rookie, by everybody's definition but the RoY.
And Daly is correct, putting him in that car for the first time on Friday, week 2, was a mistake.

Just asking, how many other markets do you think Derek Daly could get a TV sportscaster gig in?
"You can't arrest those guys, they're folk heroes"
                              "They're criminals"
