  • Miraculous! (introduction)

    Hello everyone,
I have been lurking on this board since early 2006 and for some reason the user ID confirmation emails would never show up...so on my third try, it appears the latest attempt was a success (thanks mods). I figured I'd give a little intro...

I've been to Indy time trials for as long as i can remember (I'm 23 right now...oldest memory is A.J. retiring, or maybe Rick Mears coming back as the returning champ) and my first Indy 500 was in 1996 and have been to the race every year since. I remember sitting in turn 1 during qualifications when Arie broke the track record...great memory there. I won one of the "Papyrus Indy 500 The Simulation" FanFest demo races back in the mid 90's and ended up on a front page side-column of the IndyStar sports section Sunday after pole day (pretty sure it was pole day!) and have really been an open wheel fan ever since. I saw Emmo's last race at MIS, his crash in turn 2 was directly in front of us (sitting on the infield). I have to admit I was a diehard CART fan until they left MIS back in 2000, then my focus shifted to the IRL. Some of the best races I've seen were at MIS (circa Handford device days), but the IRL races were just as good there and I really lament the fact that MIS (and ISC for that matter) have virtually snubbed any IndyCar dates. Saw my first street course race in Detroit last year and enjoyed it quite a bit, following the strategies and everything in person and seeing the championship implications there were entertaining. I used to be a big Dale Earnhardt fan and followed nascar and IndyCar together until his death, but i've pretty much fallen off the nascar bandwagon.

Oh and BTW I celebrated the :tg + :kk = ...probably one of the greatest days of my life haha.

Glad it's May and i can post now!
    AJ

P.S. Anyone take part in the ICR2 IIRS Indy 250?

Welcome. Glad you got your registration issues worked out. -cap

Don't get mad at us when we confuse you with one of the other 'indyfan' or derivative user names. I know it's getting awful confusing for me.

One of my previous attempts was like SonomaGTLN2, that might be a little easier to differentiate...oh well!
