If this is true I hope the Indianapolis Motor Speedway finds a way to get the USGP back there in 2009

Are Michael, Mario, and Marco crazy enough to think he can be anywhere near Jenson Button's pace?

Give Anthony Davidson the opportunity he deserves, and let spend a year as a test driver.

I think Marco can turn it around, but with the way things are going, haft shafts, DNF's and all, do you really think he's going to get an F1 seat with so many waiting in line? Even more far-fetched is an F-1 driver giving up his seat for an IndyCar ride.

But then again, we were hearing these Marco F1 rumors two years ago.

            Hmmm.

            Do F1 cars have halfshafts?

I could see it happening - an old F1 driver coming to the US for a final paycheck, and a young hopeful following their dream. I doubt it would be in anyone's best interests however.

IF Marco was knocking the cover off the ball in the IRL, i can see that he might have a shot at F-1. Given his record thus far, i don't see him jumping over a long line of very good drivers to be given a ride accross the pond. Remember Michael's sojourn? And he was a pretty good driver. Imagine how Marco might fare.

IF with the big I and F this comes to pass it would appear to me to be both a Thank you from Honda to Michael Andretti for his team's success in the ICS, Indy 500 and getting Danica to victory lane a bonus being that it was at their track. Also it could be part of an F-1 push in combination with a returning USGP. Otherwise it's just talk.

I'm sure Reubens has talked with enough of his friends in the ICS to know whether he would enjoy driving in it, I don't think there's too many who will claim he doesn't have the talent. So with opportunities dwindling for him in F-1 why not take Honda's money to run here as long as he enjoys it and along the way get himself an ALMS team and make a deFerren like move in the future.

As an american f1 fan I want to see an american racing in it. To his credit, Scott Speed went through the european ranks and climbed the ladder to f1, but I think Red Bull was pushing for an american race in f1 and not necessarily be able to win otherwise they would have stuck him with Toro Rosso.

IF Marco can dominate the rest of the IRL road & street courses and not break halfshafts, and I do think Marco was really embarrassed over that. When they intey interviewed him afterwards he called it a 'rookie mistake' he has shown maturity his years by keeping his father out of fight last year at Watkins Glen and being in Danica's pit when she won at Motegi to make a move to f1 sooner then later.

Honda has bigger problems then drivers. Hopefully, if these rumors are true, IF Ross Brawn can get that program turned around before Andretti tries to race in the series. The last thing they need is for another failed f1 attempt in uncompetitive equipment.

Can they please send Sato instead of Rubens, he'd be a more exciting add to the grid then Rubens.
"Ninety-two years ago [the Indy 500] was probably like any other race," said 2005 winner Dan Wheldon. "But over time it's just created so many storylines and history for people of our generation that now it's just massive. People value that history and tradition and you just can't take that away."

how would it be ride swapping if Ruebens contract is up? More likely that he just comes over here of his own free will...not sure anyone is ready to give marco a premium ride over there, and why in the world would you go over to a lower level team?

I wouldn't even call Honda a mid-level team in F1 right now, and I know this is blasaphemy for me to say this, but F1 is Marco's and Mario's dream and I'm sure he would be well-compensated by Honda to drive there

Marco is only a little closer to a F1 than the rest of us on this thread are. When Marco is able to dominate and run up front almost every road course, there might be some interest. Until then, any hope of f1 is only in his head.
