  • Is this an old or new chassi design?

Forgive me if this has been see before but on www.indycar.com under the "design it" section there is a new design posted and the chassi is one I haven't seen before.

Now, I am new to IndyCar so this could be one that has been floating out there for awhile and I just haven't seen it yet, but does that chassi design look new to anyone else?

Not really. It looks like a DP01 with a Dallara nose.

I don't know, it looks almost like a F1 body. It's not a DP01 though, it's got the air intake over the driver's head and a lot of little wings here and there.

It looks like a complete colaboration of cars. Little of this little of that. And yet a complete redesign. That nose looks like a Dallara but isn't. Wish there was a side view.

The Design It feature of the ICS web site has many options for artisits to submit cars they create. I do a great deal of my art with historical cars while others use the current Dallara chassis template and create new sponsor designs or they reconfigure current sponsor car designs. The site also has a section where artists can submit concept chassis' that they design. This image looks like it is just that, an artist's concept of what an Indy Car may look like in the future.

Looks like a Panoz body with a Panoz air intake.
            Dallara nose.
            Swift Atlantic rear wing.
            New front wing.
A few extra F1 looking pieces all over the place.

it looks like an homologation of various pieces trending more towards a modern F1 car .... imho.

i.e., it is made up ... neither the current nor future car (i hope).
