Presented as a public service to those who don't seem to realize this is the board for positive fans of the IndyCar Series...
1) We already know NASCAR is the big dog, the 800-lb gorilla, gets all the "best" drivers, gets all the "best" sponsors, gets all the "best" TV ratings, gets all the hot chicks at the dance, etc. There is no need to remind us of this "fact" on this board.
2) We already know the economy is headed south on an SR-71 Blackbird with no flight plan and no runway in sight, making it excruciatingly difficult for any IndyCar team to woo sponsors. There is no need to remind us of this "fact" on this board.
3) We already know that not every single former Champ Car team will be joining the IndyCar Series this year, possibly for reasons 1) and 2) above, and that some teams and drivers may never be heard from again in Indianapolis-style open-wheeled racing, ever. There is no need to remind us of this "fact" on this board.
4) We already know that those responsible for promoting IndyCar racing apparently cannot promote their way out of a paper bag and seem to asphyxiate every time they attempt it; and as a result our ratings and attendance will be at best mediocre and at worst abysmal, especially compared to the sanctioning body mentioned in 1). There is no need to remind us of this "fact" on this board.
5) We already know that, with rare exceptions so mediocre they're not worth mentioning, short track drivers are not only unable to compete in the top-level racing they once dominated like an elephant does a cockroach, they are actively discouraged from even giving it a sniff, being told to come back with sponsors and/or a million zillion dollars in cold hard cash; and hence, all short-track drivers, especially the ones driving in USAC, are utterly and summarily screwed, flocking to NASCAR instead in lemming-like droves. There is no need to remind us of this "fact" on this board.
6) We already know that Danica is in the series only because she looks hot in white cotton swimwear and/or has sold her soul to greedy agents and brain-dead advertisers, and that Sarah owns her own team now only because she does not look hot in white cotton swimwear and/or has sold her soul to greedy agents and brain-dead advertiser, and neither of them are capable of driving a tricycle over a paved asphalt driveway without risking other people's lives, much less in a high-performance formula racecar at 220+ MPH. There is no need to remind us of this "fact" on this board.
Feel free to add any others that I may have missed, that those who apparently do not understand people come to this particular board to enjoy what they like about the sport may be appropriately informed.
