  • How did they come up with this stuff?

I'm a big IndyCar booster. None bigger than me. But this Guthrie release is just plain overinflated info.I hope this works out them though.

This also makes it sound like they will run the 500. No mention of the Freedom 100.

Very over the top. In fact much of the claims cannot be supported with real data.

      It's usually better to under-promise and over-deliver than vice-versa.

BAHAHA! nice to see that some of the the old "champcar" overhypsters, BSers and hucksters found work with a team in the new mergified coalition series.

Lets see, NASCAR has built a huge series on a lot of over the top hype. I heard one today advertising Charlotte World 600 as the biggest weekend in NASCAR and the country's largest Memorial Day cookout.

I think Indy Car racing coulds use some hype of their own. Why is it a bad thing for a team to try to drum up sponsorship talking about Indy cars re-union and return on investment. Boy some of you only want to *****.

At least they are DOING something rather than sitting back moaning

Some of you guys need to get off your duffs and do something, maybe then you could EARN the right to criticize those who try.

There's nothing wrong with tooting your own horn. There's nothing wrong with acentuating the positive. There's nothing wrong with BS-ing a little. But this stuff is just out and out fabrication. When you sell a product or service based on fabrications, it will come back to bite you in the long run. Truth in advertising.

I think the OW that we love has more class than to use a used-car salesman mentality.

Yep, it's great to see the guys getting a chance at fitting into new roles. Should be a pleasure to watch as they make their way in the series. The last bunch that made their way to the IRL seemed to do a very good job at rising immediately to the top of the heap. Can we expect less from these fellows?

I always rather wished JPM and Chip had stayed around too as they had things wired up pretty well.

About the only "overhypsters, BSers and hucksters" I see from here are the Neggie Nannies that resent success in others. Finally after all this time it would seem that encouragement and promotion are due.

Amen. First the only SoFIFCARD, Society of Internet Fact Checkers Auto Racing Division, members have already posted and haven't gotten very far. Second let's remember that a month ago we were told right here and by some teams that teams were spending the first few hours of pitching a sponsorship explaining to companies that they were either 'No not running in the Indy 500 but part of the old CART series that used to run at Indy the cars are similar but more powerful (and beautiful to our fans compared to Dallaras) and no Danica and Helio fronm the dancing show aren't with us' OR 'We're the Indycar series that runs at the Indy 500 with Danica and Helio the dancing guy and no not the other series that doesn't'. So if there are sponsors are that uniformed to begin with who are willing to sign on without checking into what they're told before they sign they mght not ever notice that what they were sold wasn't so. Then if they do sign they're going to be bragging to their customers and competitors at trade shows and conferences about how they were right there in the IndyCar garage with AJ, Michael, Danica and everyone else.
"You can't arrest those guys, they're folk heroes"
                        "They're criminals"
"Well most folk heroes started out as criminals"

"Guthrie Racing is the hottest race team on the Indy race circuit with several wins and top 10 finishes"

Oh baby! Wait till Roger and Chip hear this.....
Oh sorry, Guthrie runs in a different series...just a small item that they fail to mention in their pleading for sponsorship.

Considering NASCAR claims they have the world's greatest drivers, I can overlook what Guthrie is doing.
