  • Front wings at Sebring

Did anyone else see the differences in the front wings in TSO's pictures at Sebring. I don't recall seeing this much difference in the past and may have just over looked it. But the wings from Penske, Ganassi, AGR, Panther all have are very different. It does look like Panther's and AGR's are similar, but all are very different from the lower budget teams.

I noticed this on Marco's and TK's cars. I remember TK saying they were doing a bunch of development work during the practice this week. However, I'm not sure if this is IRL mandated or not...remember Danica tested the "assisted steering" last year.

With the addition of roadcourses this year and next, together with the lack of aerodynamics of the current Indycar on these types of circuits, its not hard to imagine a different package for later in the season or for '09.

I looked at all the pictures I had from last year, and all I could find as well, and I never saw AGR do that then, Penske did, TCGR did, D&R did as did Panther. The first time I saw the tall verticle fins were on a Panther car, I'm thinking at Milwaukee two years ago, but it may have been at St. Pete. I am sure I saw them on a Panther car first. The AGR fin is more like the Penske one, not the taller, not as wide one the other teams use. AGR had the fins on every car but Danica's from what I can tell from IndyCar pictures.

It's always been about the Indy 500!
I realize I have the right to remain silent, but don't have the ability or enough common sense to do so.

I was thinking Richmond. Definitely Panther though. They were first with the now standard mirrors too.

That is correct - Richmond 2005 was first time for the front wing kit. Those bits and the mirrors were developed by Chevy for Panther. I believe they are now available to all teams from the company that produced them for Chevy.
