  • Parking at St. Pete Race

We are staying on St. Pete beach and attending the race. Where is a good place to park and walk to the race? Does the city provide a shuttle? Any imput would be appreciated as this is our first trip to this race. Thanks

They normally have race parking at the Ray's Tropicana Field and it is about a 10 minute bus ride from there to the track. Bad part of the bus is waiting in line to get back to your car after the race.

I drive over from Tampa and get to the track about 7:30 am. If you get there early, you can park on the street for free and it is a 5 minute walk to the track. You can have my spot as I'm not going this year.

If you get there early around 7-8 AM, the best place to park would be near the pier.

I have got there 30 minutes to Green and parked free on the street 8-10 blocks away the last two years...

Publix supermarket is about 5 minutes outside track. Last year they had a display set up outside the store selling a Boars Head bratwurst and a soft drink for $2.00, the year before had a Boars Head hot dog and drink for $1.00. Worth the walk and can't beat the price.

This sounds great. Do you remember what street it is located on? I seem to find a ton of Publix in the St. Pete area. Thanks

It's gotta be this one, it's right outside the track per Google maps.

Publix rocks, I sure do miss it now that I don't live in Florida. I like the track food, but then I love corn dogs, fries and lemonade. Yep, it is pricy though. DO NOT park in any of the college lots on race day, they contract them out and charge big bucks. I like Trop Field, but I don't rush right out after the race is over.

Parking at Tropicana Field is a no brainer, we have done it the last 2 years. It's pretty well organized, the longest we have had to wait for a bus is maybe 15 minutes.

Might have to wait a little longer this year, the consolidated series will draw more fans and make St. Pete a heck of a show.

I certainly hope so. I had no problem getting top row (row 24) seats in grandstand 10 last thursday though. I figured those would have been long gone.

Another plus for Tropicana parking, there is a Domino's Pizza just before you get on the highway, I cell phone my pizza order, pick it up and head home to watch the TiVo of the race. I haven't missed a St Pete ICS race, I hope it is a long time before I have to.

I'm with you, I have been to every St Pete GP. My best friend lives at St Pete Beach, it usually makes for a great weekend. I made both St Pete and Homestead the last two years but it wasnt to be this year, poor scheduling on my part!
