    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Statement from Neil Micklewright, VP of Operations for Forsythe Championship Racing Ltd., LLC:

“Forsythe Championship Racing is announcing today the cessation of its racing operations. After 13 years of competition in CART and the Champ Car World Series, the team has been unable to secure the necessary sponsorship to be able to compete in the Indy Racing League IndyCar Series in 2008. Forsythe Racing Inc., the parent company of FCR, will participate in the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, the Champ Car finale, with drivers to be announced.”
Not sure if this will happen or not. It was Neil that sent PT that email in Decmeber.

I didn't think Forsythe was very happy with the whole turn of events . . .

Of course he can afford to run the last Champ Car race, but can't run IndyCar. IndyCar doesn't need him anyways IMO.

As long as PT has a competitive seat in the series, I would be quite happy to see Mr. Forsythe withdraw and never be heard from again in the racing community.

Seems like there will be some assets survive and pass through to Indy Car, even if under different management.

Hey, Sarah should have made them an offer, and acquired the rights to the $1.2+ million deal

                      Or PDM, or ...??

Good question. I didn't see anything on the FPR website, but I see that this was posted by someone at CCF.

If it's true, it explains a lot of things, notably Forsythe's invisibility during the unification process. As much as I feel bad for those immediately affected by the end of FPR, I'm glad that Forsythe decided to just drop out, rather than obstruct the unification.

Tracy has to land somewhere. Over the hill or not, he's still a talented 'name' driver, and a good villain for many to cheer against (and others for).

Good riddance Gerry - the sport will be better off without you.

I do hope PT lands somewhere though.
