well drag racing became the equivalent of F1 this weekend, with strategy playing a bigger part than the on-track racing of the competition equation.
the left lane was horrible, only 2 top fuel winners in that lane all day.
so the guys that had lane choice, were staging VERY shallow, to get a better ET, in order to hold on to lane choice next round.
in other words, they weren't really racing the car in the next lane, they were racing the other cars that ran in THEIR lane, during that round of elims.
until the final, when dick lahaie pulled a **** rabbit out of his hat and ran a 4.6 in the CRAPPY left lane.
un freaking bahlievable!

I used to get really annoyed at one lane race tracks like this.
it does add some interesting twists however.
and when someone does get down the crappy lane, it just shocks the heck out of everyone.
well, unless it 's dick lahaie, then , it's not all that shocking
