Awesome news. It would be a huge shame to see him go rideless this year. One year out of the car and you can be yesterday's news very quickly."Unfortunately, the business types who now permeate the sport don't share this same gut centered devotion. I can only hope that the truly addicted will prevail, and that the original spirit of open wheel competition will somehow manage to survive and prosper into the future."

Conor Daly Testing GP2 Car In Abu Dhabi
Just when it seemed all doors have closed for Conor in 2014 a new one opens. This is from his twitter/Facebook account.

Most of the seats in GP2 are filled up... it's either Trident, MP Motorsports, or Venezuela Lazarus. MP have shown themselves well with Quaife-Hobbs and Dani Clos (although Dani still keeps running into people), Trident is a bit weaker but they also had a much weaker driver line up with Berthon and Berthon did get 1 reverse grid win. If Conor gets a ride in MP or Trident he would have no excuse not to be a strong midpacker if not the occasional podium. If Conor's with Lazarus then he won't be doing much beyond tooting around at the back.Double Standards! The TrackForum Motto!Comment

Most of the seats in GP2 are fulled up. As I said in another thread it's either Trident, MP Motorsports, or Venezuela Lazarus. If Conor gets a ride with Trident or MP he doesn't have any excuses not to do well. MP were strong upper midpackers with Quaife-Hobbs and Dani Clos (even with Dani's constantly crashing into people...) Trident were weaker but they had a weaker driver line up. It's unsure whether them being slow is due to Berthon and Ceccon or if it's because of the team. But Berthon did have 1 reverse grid win last year.Originally posted by ICS001 View Post

I don't follow GP2 closely enough to comment but I saw others expressed concern this would be a bad team. That said, IMHO a seat in a bad team is better than no seat at all. He may not score points but if he can look better than expected despite the team it good lead to bigger and better things.Venezuela GP Lazarus announced last Friday that Nathanaël Berthon was joining them for the season with the clear objective to help the team fight for podiums. Conor Daly will also be testing for the Italian team in Abu Dhabi. The American driver and GP3 graduate already has a GP2 race weekend under his belt at Sepang last year where he scored two points.You can be a critical fan without being a Critic... Or can you? Quit your b'tchn and enjoy the racing :D
