  • Brabham & Veach @ Andretti Indy Lights 2014

Thought I'd post this because I hadn't seen it mentioned elsewhere.

Glad to see Matty Brabs stepping up. It will be interesting to see how he performs at the next level.

Both rides seem to have sponsorship, which is also positive.

That is big. Since Matt's sponsorship is UFD I'm sure that sponsorship was provided by AA and not Matt himself. I've said this before but I can't say how much I appreciate Michael Andretti and his support of junior drivers. I think Matt well challenged for the Lights title as for Zach...yeah good luck Zach.

Since Brabham has the step-up money from winning the PRO Mazda championship (when was the last time that the Mazda champ didn't run for Schmidt?) that covers a big portion of the necessary budget, I would have to imagine that UFD sponsoring him as the primary is a throw-in on the IndyCar sponsorship.

It would be good to see Veach step up his performance next season in his second season in Lights. Karam, Veach, and Brabham in Lights, possibly along with Chaves and who knows who else, will be a good battle.

Every Pro Mazda Champion to win the scholarship has run for Schmidt

I have never spent a lot of time watching Lights, but I am pretty interested in watching Matty Brabs.

I think he's the real deal. I am very interested in seeing how he will do. I would like to see Matty vs. Karam vs. Veach in comparable equipment.

When there are only 3 teams left, its not like there are many options.

Brabham did what a good driver is supposed to do against a pretty weak field. He dominated by winning poles, leading almost every lap of every race and winning almost every race. That's why he could be the real deal.

Veach seems way over-his-skis and probably should be racing a couple of levels down from where he is. Hopefully he doesn't get himself hurt.
