  • Bahrain Fast Lap...

Did anyone else catch the fact that the fastest lap was set by Nico Rosberg in the Williams Cosworth?

Or that Scott Speed had the fast lap among all the Red Bull drivers. Not too bad I would say.

Nico however might be one of those rare talents. He is the real deal. Scott might be too with some development.

Yes, that did not go unnoticed;quite impressive for a rookie let alone a first time start. I think the SPEED guys mentioned that he did quite well on that track in GP2. Sir Frank is good at finding the young talent.

All this could bode well for Williams and Cosworth...

It was my understanding that due to the elevation revs were important and the Cosy revs the highest. Not to take anything away from Nico of course.

            What elevation?

                For now.

Cosworth wasn't associated with a top contender last year so they used their rolls of quarters (or is it pence?) wisely and got a leg up on the competition with their V8.

Right now their advantage is likely as good as it will get and I expect Honda, Toyota, Ferrari, and Mercedes (Ilmor) will close this gap quickly.

...Nico Rosberg really caught my attention and impressed me last season in the GP2 series. I think he's going to quickly develop into one of the more exciting drivers to enter F1 in the past several years.

I'm not expecting a whole lot out of Scott Speed this season other than to just learn and finish races. Impressive though that he was the fastest of the Red Bull cars.
