  • Peter Windsor

Michael Schumacher tied Senna's all-time record for most poles at Bahrain and Peter Windsor didn't even ask him about it in the top-three interview after qualifying. I would say that's the one thing we all wanted to hear Michael talk about. Did Windsor even know Michael tied the record?

It's amazing to me how many bad announcers are employed by Speed Channel. Connie LeGrande would have no idea what to say if her teleprompter went out.

There's more to the press conference than the Peter Windsor portion... this was asked after Speed cut away:

    Q. Your pole position total is now equal to the record. Do you have a comment to make on that?

MS: It makes me proud, that's probably all I should and can say about it.
    Tremendous insight.

Most continue to hold sincere reverance to Senna. And rightfully so.

Bob Varsha did mention it took Schuey many more races to break the record. Do we put an asterisk on Schuey's record like they did Roger Maris?

Asterisks are only allowed if MS begins growing muscles on his face and threatens a homerun record of some sort.

Asterisk????? No absolutely not. Schuey earned it. I think that Schuey didn't make it a big deal since he is humbled by the fact he is tied with Senna. And he knows their was a one and only Senna. I believe all in racing holds tightly to their heart in this emotion.

Maris drove a Louisville Slugger right through the hearts of Babe Ruth fans, including then-commissioner Ford Frick, who was The Babe's ghostwriter.

Some of the teams Maris drove for were the Kansas City Athletics (Minardi), New York Yankees (McLaren) and St. Louis Cardinals (Ferrari).

I really disagree with you. IMO Varsha, Matchett and Windsor are second to none and I consider them the gold standard. As far as Connie LeGrande goes, the position she is in really doesn't have to know anything about racing she is just a pretty face reading you the news.

A.) That would be assuming Minardi won something at some point in time since the A's have 9 world championships (I know split b/w Philly and Oakland, ironically same as the Cards)

B.) Cards are not Ferrari, sorry. I think of Ferrari fans as those who are passionate about their team and other fans absolutely despise. Therefore the baseball Ferrari has to go to Boston or New York on that one. IMHO.

C.) Cards are more of a Williams, they win the big one every once and awhile, and make a lot of noise.

D.) My Cubbies are the old Honda Jordan teams, they claim to have won something, yet no one really remembers what....

Kid, nice analogy but honestly I wasn't thinking in those terms.

I mentioned the K.C. Athletics with Minardi because in the 50s, the A's sucked (as did Minardi). I put the Cardinals with Ferrari 'cause of the Red.

BTW, what happened the Carbondale Terriers in boys basketball? I thought they would head back to state. Instead, ESL ripped them.

Beats the heck out of me. Maybe they finally realized they were the Carbondale Terriers. Then again its not like they play real basketball in high school here.

                              PS CLASS BASKETBALL STILL SUX!!!

no I am not bitter, why do you ask???
