  • Davidson breaks Valencia record, full second faster than Kimi

Having trouble with the link, but story is at www.itv-f1.com.

Good thing they slowed 'em down, huh. A week and a half to the start of what looks to be a fascinating, hyper-competitive season. Getting pretty amped.

Think how fast they'd be if they weren't trying to slow them down!

March 12th can't get here fast enough. Let's get this season started!

        Wow, confirmed it's the V8.

I remember when they first mentionned the V8 rules, they were talking about it slowing them 6-8s/lap...

        How about 0s/lap?

Or how about -1s/lap? Kind of like the aero and tire rules last year - they worked a little bit for a while, but by the end of the season they were back to the same times as the year before. This V8 didn't even slow the cars down for that long. What'll be new for '07? No front wing? A V6?

I got leary of this number maybe being a "V8 Track Record" so I looked around some more.

It's real. The previous V10 track record, set last year by Kimi, was 1:09:005, and today Davidson was at 1:08:543.

Motorsports engineering, especially in F1, is just a fascinating thing.

              *fumes*

I recall a little blue number making track records, during the winter season,a few years back......And watched it's pitiful performance at each and every race, before folding up shop.
Yup,I know that Honda isn't Prost but I still think there is a lot of grandstanding before the sh*t hits the fan for real.

I think Honda will be the real deal, BAR showed glimmers of hope in the last few seasons. Prediction - Robin Miller will eat his Button prediction when he wins a race this year!

I'm really excited about the season, it's going to be a barnburner.

I was browsing the Atlas/Autosport testing reports, seems like the V8s are close on every track... only 0.5s-1.5s off the 2005 pace.
