Though if this were a lady, would she be bordering on anorexic?
I still can't believe how much the design changes on these things. You only have to look back over the cars of the last 10 years to see how much things keep progressing.
Well, their first times out of the box were not to hot, but it is only pre-season testing. The aero lines around the smaller engine are something to behold, but could 2006 be back to a season of who has the best tires (Bridgestone vs. Michelin) with tire changing now allowed....
FWIW, Renault it making a very big deal of their F-1 title all over Europe. Big ads in all the magazines, commercials on TV, billboards. If they are getting out in a year or two, clearly they are making hay now.

It's a serious mistake to underestimate Renault in 2006. Regardless of the new V8 engines or Alonso's departure to McLaren in 2007.
Renault have been the acknowledged aero and handling leaders for about the last 3 years. They also "managed" the WCC and WDC crowns last year. It's been hinted more than once....within and without Renault....that they had more than a little in reserve.
The season finale certainly suggested they held back in favor of the proven for the mid part of the season. I expect them to be fully competitive when the season starts. The real question mark to me remains how well Ferrari bounces back from last year and the tire war. If Ferrari gets it right, there should be a serious three or four way battle--depending on whether Montoya starts the season well.

Exactly why I'm glad F1 is going to one tire manufacturer. Competition between tire manufacturers isn't nearly as interesting as competition beteween constructors/teams.
DVR . . . . Life is too short to watch commercials.
